Atheena Roncal
I am currently a senior enrolled at Millikan High School. I will be attending Long Beach City College (LBCC) for two years of Architecture, and I wish to continue this path in a transfer to a University of California, preferably University of California, Los Angeles! Architectural Reconstruction showcases the knowledge and skills I have acquired throughout my experience in this career. I hope that the highlights of my experience will inspire others to consider architecture, whether as their passion or a last resort! It never hurts to try new things.
Why Architecture?
I have always had a spark for creativity and curiosity as a child, which I often shared through building and problem solving, whether independent or with family and friends. As a child, it never really hit me how important these interests came about until I got to the age where I started thinking about my future. There was no interest that truly stuck to me as much as architecture did, with its strong correlation to my fascination in buildings and sight seeking when it came to unfamiliar places a child can get their eyes lost in. Such views that immediately caught my eye was the city life—Los Angeles, New York City, Seattle, you name it. It was the way everything reflected off the tall, polished glass of buildings and sophisticated minimalism that stretched past my peripherals, initiating my passion for architecture. I aspire to broaden my insight and expertise in this field of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) as my devotion to it grows alongside the future's modernization.
