About Architectural Reconstruction [AR]
Architecture combines creativity, engineering, and problem-solving to shape the spaces people use every day. For my Professional Learning Experience (PLE) project, I wanted to explore architecture through hands-on model making by recreating one of the most recognizable fictional workplaces in television history.
I selected the Dunder Mifflin office from the popular mockumentary "The Office" because it presents a unique challenge: the building is familiar to many viewers, but no official construction plans are publicly available. This required me to study visual references and use architectural reasoning to estimate dimensions and layouts.
[AR] Overview
Architectural Reconstruction [AR] is a senior project focused on recreating the Dunder Mifflin office building from the television show The Office through a scaled physical architectural model. Using reference images, design estimation, and hands-on construction techniques, this project explores how architects transform visual concepts into realistic structures. Through planning, model-making, and problem-solving, Architectural Reconstruction highlights the creative and technical process behind bringing a recognizable space to life.
